From the Naperville/Aurora/Lisle district:
Adam Gebner
Naperville, Naperville Central HS
Why nominated: Adam Gebner is the senior captain of the Naperville Central wrestling team. Adam was ranked #3 preseason in his weight class and carries a 26-3 record. After graduation from Central Adam will attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Adam Hankin
Naperville, Naperville North HS
Why nominated: Adam Hankin is a senior leader who is currently 30-2 for the Huskies at 145lbs. 22 of his wins have come by pinning his opponent. Adam was named the Outstanding Wrestler at the 2009 DeKalb Flavin Invite. He was a 2009 IHSA State Qualifier at 140lbs.
Chris Wray
Lisle, Lisle HS
Why nominated: Wray a junior forward for the Lions boys basketball team scored 16 points for Lisle along with a key lay-up with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter to force overtime in the Interstate Eight Conference tournament.
D.J. Vaughn
Aurora, West Aurora HS
Why nominated: D.J. Vaughn Sr. Guard, hit four 3-pointers and lead West Aurora with 18 points, to beat rival East Aurora 72-66 at Northern Illinois' Convocation Center.
Greg Askwith
Aurora, Marmion Academy
Why nominated: Greg, a senior on the basketball team scored a career high 25 points including 4 3-pointers to defeat Immaculate Conception 67-46.
Hans Peter
Aurora, Waubonsie Valley HS
Why nominated: Hans led the Wildcats to victory in the Upstate Eight Conference meet by winning a total of four events. Peters won the 500-yard freestyle (4:44.46) and the 50-yard freestyle (21.98). He anchored the 400-yard freestyle relay and was a part of the 200-yard medley relay.
Jordan Rettig
Aurora, Rosary HS
Why nominated: Jordan, a senior center for Rosary led the team to victory over Aurora Christian with a score of 66-37. she got 14 of her game-high 22 points in the first half.
Rahjan Muhammad
Aurora, Neuqua Valley HS
Why nominated: Rahjan Muhammad senior point guard hit six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 24 points to help defeat West Aurora 63-57 in overtime to help his team go 19-1 this season so far.
From the Bolingbrook/Romeoville/Plainfield district:
Brian Bennett
Plainfield East HS
Why nominated: A 6-foot-10 sophomore center scored a team-high 12 points, 5 rebounds and tallied 6 of those 8 points in an 8-2 run in the late minutes to beat rival Plainfield South.
James Reszke
Bolingbrook HS
Why nominated: Jimmy finished in 2nd place for the SWSC conference bowling tournament. He had the high game for the tournament with a 286. Jimmy also has the highest average on the team with a 207 for the season for matches and tournaments.
Jessica Krasauskis
Plainfield North HS
Why nominated: Jessica bowled 1306 Series at Morris Invite for a school record. She is averaging 200 per game.
Kyle Heywood
Plainfield South HS
Why nominated: Kyle, a South senior bowler, came up big in the the fourth annual Plainfield North Boys Invitational. He averaged 240.3 for six games with a high game of 257. Heywood captured individual honors with a 1,442 pin total. Kyle bowled a pair of 237 games to begin competition, along with a 227, gave Heywood a 701 series in the morning and the afternoon session was even better 257, 247 and another 237 for a 741. Heywood's effort helped the Cougars to a second-place finish with a 6,025 finale.
Nicoli Trevino
Plainfield Central HS
Why nominated: Placed 7th at Dvorach Tournament (National Tournament), placed 5th at Cheesehead Tournament (National Tournament) 10-1 Dual Record.
