What Changes Will the Upcoming 2019 Honda Civic Refresh Bring?
Just because the 10th-generation Honda Civic was so highly acclaimed, that doesn’t mean Honda is resting on its laurels. While it’s not available yet, we do know that the upcoming 2019 Honda Civic refresh is set to update styling, add new options, and bring more technology as standard.
What to Expect From 2019 Honda Civic Style
Head-turning style has been a calling card of the 10th-generation Honda Civic, and the concept is evolving for 2019 with changes to the front and rear for 2019 to accentuate the Honda Civic’s low, wide, athletic stance and sporty good looks.
Look up front and you’ll notice a new piano black upper fascia “wing,” a restyled lower fascia, a restyled bumper, and a full-width front splitter, plus updated halogen or LED headlights. Look to the rear for chrome accents along the back bumper and larger 18-inch rims on the Touring trim.
What to Expect From 2019 Honda Civic Trims
Current Honda Civic trims include: LX, EX, EX-T, EX-L, and Touring. For the 2019 Honda Civic, a new Sport trim slips in between the LX and the EX. Much like the Honda Accord Sport trim, it’s an option to provide sporty looks and upgraded performance without breaking the bank, with some of its features including:
- Rear Decklid Spoiler
- 18-Inch 10-Spoke Wheels with Berlina Black Finish
- 7-Inch Display Audio Touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Integration
Sitting at the heart of the Sport trim is a high-revving 2.0L 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC engine paired to either CVT with G-Shift Control or a quick-shifting 6-speed manual.

What to Expect From 2019 Honda Civic Safety
The 2018 Civic displayed an admirable commitment to safety. For 2019, Honda is doubling down on their commitment to safety by equipping the following Honda Sensing technologies as standard across all trims:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with Forward Collision Warning
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Whether avoiding collisions in the center of Naperville or preventing unsafe lane changes between Aurora and Bolingbrook, you’ll be glad the latest safety technology is on your side.
