What Is HondaTrue Certified?

With a new Honda vehicle, you’re getting a high-quality ride backed by comprehensive warranty coverage to ensure you enjoy added peace of mind on your Chicago drives. With that being said, we know that not every car shopper is interested in opting for a brand-new vehicle, and that’s where HondaTrue Certified comes in. But, what is HondaTrue Certified? HondaTrue is a program from Honda that allows you to find the perfect pre-owned Honda vehicle for your adventures.

HondaTrue offers two main tiers of options: HondaTrue Used and HondaTrue Certified.  No matter which HondaTrue vehicle you choose though, rest assured that you’re getting a high-quality pre-owned Honda vehicle that has plenty to offer. Your Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle is covered by the following Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles Limited Warranty:

HondaTrue Certified:

• Eligible Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles: Honda vehicles up to 6 years and with less than 80,000 miles from their original In-Service Date at the time of sale.

• Non-Powertrain Coverage: For vehicles still covered by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty (NVLW) at the time of CPO purchase, the CPO Limited Warranty provides coverage for 2 years from the expiration of the NVLW or 100,000 total miles* (whichever occurs first); for vehicles where the NVLW had expired at the time of CPO purchase, the CPO Limited Warranty provides non-powertrain coverage of 2 years from the time of CPO purchase or 100,000 total miles (whichever comes first).

• Powertrain Coverage: 7 years or 100,000 total odometer miles (whichever occurs first) from original In-Service Date.

HondaTrue Used:

• Eligible Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles: Honda vehicles 10 years old or newer from their original In-Service Date at the time of sale.

• Non-Powertrain Coverage and Powertrain Coverage: 100 days or 5,000 miles (whichever occurs first) beginning at the expiration of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, or from the date of sale of the Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle if the New Vehicle Limited Warranty has expired at the time of sale. Repairs covered by this program are limited to the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) on original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and Honda factory flat-rate labor time. Upon the sale of the vehicle, private party to private party, this warranty is transferable. The new owner shall be afforded the balance of the Non-Powertrain coverage plus the remaining portion of the Powertrain coverage.

The returned vehicle must be in the same condition as when it left the dealership and may have no more than 300 miles over the mileage shown as of the date of purchase.
