What Makes Oswego Special?

Oswego, IL is a village full of history, culture, and outdoor fun. It is the type of place that Valley Honda is proud to serve. Founded in 1833 by William Smith Wilson, Oswego grew quickly due to a ford that allowed travelers and traders to cross the Fox River. Since the town became incorporated in 1852, it has continued to grow into a wonderful place to live, work, and play.

Oswego's History

This village’s history has its roots in the automotive industry, since Oswego was home to a drag strip that attracted drivers from all over the Midwest from 1955 to 1979. It celebrates this racing heritage even today with its annual Drag Strip Days, which offers activities and fun for the whole family.

Oswego's Historic Downtown District

Another place where Oswego’s history is also prevalent is its beautiful Historic Downtown district. This area has recently undergone a major restoration, making the village even more welcoming. From Main Street to Hudson Crossing Park is the Waubonsee Creek Promenade, which gives strollers a glimpse of the natural beauty of the area. Oswego even has its own winery—the Fox Valley Winery—that is the perfect place to unwind after a long week.
