How to Connect to Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™

So, you’re excited because you’ve just driven home your new Honda vehicle, like a lot of our other happy Aurora customers. You’re also excited because you know your new car can integrate with your smartphone! But how do you do that? Don’t worry. We’ve put together simple instructions below on how to connect Apple CarPlay® and how to connect Android Auto™. We’ll also discuss what to do if you have a problem with Apple CarPlay® not connecting.


How to Connect to Apple CarPlay®

Are you confused about the ins and outs of Apple CarPlay®? Don’t worry, a lot of our Chicago customers have had the same problem. Just follow the simple instructions below.

How to Connect to Apple CarPlay®

  • Enable Siri on your iPhone.
  • Plug your phone into the USB port with the CarPlay® label.
  • If trying to connect via Bluetooth, go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and select your car.
  • Start the car.
  • Activate Siri by holding the Voice Control button on your steering wheel or touching and holding the CarPlay® Home button on your touchscreen until Siri appears.

How to Connect to Android Auto™

If your phone is running on Android 5.0 or later, you can integrate it with your smartphone. Follow the instructions below, and you’ll soon be enjoying your music and other smartphone features during your Naperville commute.How to Connect to Android Auto™

  • In your car’s settings, turn on Android Auto™.
  • Make sure that the Android Auto™ app is downloaded and installed on your phone.
  • Unlock your phone’s screen.
  • Review the Safety Information and Android Auto™ permissions.
  • Turn on notifications for Android Auto™.
  • Tap Android Auto™ on your car’s display.

Issues with Apple CarPlay® Not Connecting

Here’s what to do if you have issues with Apple CarPlay® not connecting:

  • Make sure your phone has the latest version of IOS.
  • If connected via USB, try a different cable, then a different port.
  • If you’re trying to connect wirelessly, make sure that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your phone.
  • Look for the CarPlay® logo on your car’s display if CarPlay® doesn’t activate automatically.
  • Restart iPhone and your car.
  • Check to see if Siri is on.
  • If your iPhone isn’t detected, make sure that it has CarPlay® enabled.
  • Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
